I always recommend getting artwork framed professionally but if you have a gift for it and have the perfect readymade frame – brilliant. Always frame artwork on paper behind glass as this will protect and preserve it.
The majority of my pieces look wonderful mounted using a raise and float technique in a box/shadow frame to show off the delicate torn edges or the fact that I don’t always paint to the edges - your framer should be familiar with this technique.
